🎢Alex Jay

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ meet Alex Jay, the angelic voice behind my favorite covers & musical genius behind his original musical art.

I began following Alex Jay on Twitter after coming across a video of him playing the guitar in the most melodic rhythm & singing with the most pure voice (Don’t believe me? Take a listen here).

His love for singing is apparent by the passion in his vocals. If you were to ask me what his music is like, I would use the words: refined, distinctive, & invoking. His voice is soothing & has a way of creating emotions, jarring feelings, & reviving life. It grasps your attention the moment he opens his mouth.

Normally, I am a reader, however his music & voice does for me what a good book does; it impacts me. As a listener, it affects me in unanticipated & unmeasured ways. It echos long after the music has come to an end.

The rhythm & tone he creates is distinctive & unique to him. His voice becomes an art of storytelling & causes you to reminisce about a particular moment. Not only do you reminisce about the moment, his voice seems to place you in that exact place. He sings in a way that makes you remember the moment, the feeling you had when the moment occurred, & brings it to the present.

His music sends sweet vibrations to the core of you heart & soul. His style of singing is intimate, inviting, & he puts you at ease. Personally, his voice has a way of calming my anxiety, enough to keep me grounded.

He has a sound that will transport you to your own world. Each song, whether it be a cover or an originally composed work or art, is written & sung with passion & heart wrenching emotion. His passion transmits to his listeners. Each rift & run that he flawlessly completes resounds within his listeners.

One of his goals & desires is to appear on the Ellen Degeneres Show–🚨🚨complete this form to request him as a guest. 🚨🚨

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ I personally won’t stop tweeting, retweeting, or completing request forms until the world knows the star⭐️ he truly is!

πŸ€ͺThe Weirdo : R.A.W.E

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ I first stumbled across Devvon Terrell some years ago on Facebook recording covers (which I’ll admit, I enjoyed more than the artist version). I instantly became a fan & began saving all of his videos, liking his page, & following him on Facebook. During this time, he was known as the Living Weirdo. That name stood out to me, partially because of the logo & the other part was because it was relatable. He made being a weirdo kind of cool, something to wear on your chest as an honor.

I became such a crazed fan, that I joined the group Devvon Terrell’s RAWE group. The group is so much more than a group, we are Devvon’s extended weirdo family. Shortly before I joined the group, (July) Facebook sent a notification giving me a badge as a top fan ⭐️.

Here’s why I HAD to write a post on Devvon Terrell: First, he DESERVES this recognition plus so much more than I could ever give him. He worked his way to this spot, & put in the time to build this fan base. I’ve said it before & I’m going to say it again–he’s completely UNDERRATED.

(One of my common questions is, “do you listen to Devvon Terrell?” If the answer is no, I’m sending a link to his music–right that second. If the answer is yes, I insert how amazing he is & they agree.) If you’ve never heard of him– click here & you’ll see he’s a big deal. He’s reinvented himself & his brand–& leveled up.

He & his music brought together fans & supporters of different races, age, & gender. Because of the growing hatred in the world today, this is big because Devvon Terrell has accomplished a common goal–unity. I guess it’s true after all, music is a universal language.

Secondly, he has OVER a million fans, followers, & supporters, but still takes time out of his busy schedule to actually comment & interact with his fans.

**(He’s made my night on a few occasions by liking my tweets & responding to my comments)

When he goes live, he actually reads comments & responds to them by calling names. Not a generic, “thank you” or response, but an actual acknowledgement of you as an individual.

Thirdly, his music (along with himself as artist) is RAWE —Real And Well Evolved. Musically, his sound is unique, but signature. His voice is intoxicating, notable & one you can never forget. When the beat drops, you know he’s going to snap on the mic. You get lost in his music, & his music comes complete with songs to fit any mood you may be feeling. New dimensions in his music are discovered with each subsequent listen as his songs get better with each repeated play. The bar is raised with each song, but he continues to outdo himself. The combination of dope songs & superb production make for very strong albums. His music not only evoke feelings, it creates an experience. He has created albums that are well versed and profoundly executed. Stephy Says πŸ’‹ his music & albums can be described as:

βœ…a perfect treasure of melodies sung with passion

βœ…exclusively unique ventures

βœ…works of instrumental genius

βœ…melodies that seep into your brain that will leave you singing

βœ…memorable with quotable lyrics

βœ…embroidered with polished effects

βœ…some of the most intriguing albums of the year

βœ…proves to be a rousing showcase of the artist’s talents

βœ… rich in quality and balanced complexity

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ Devvon Terrell comes highly recommended because he is highly listenable, & highly humble. From start to finish, his albums grasp your attention.

AU Wood πŸŒŠπŸ„πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ meet AU Wood, the lyrical genius behind some of your favorite songs & dopest hits that you probably haven’t heard yet.

On a day to day basis, Wood is a respectable & friendly individual, but drop a beat & watch him transform into a beast as he bodies a beat.

Wood delivers metaphors & punchlines bar after bar with an effortless delivery. He drops so much fire that you literally have to start the song over so you can hear the bars again–so much heat that you have to pause, regain your composure, & let others hear it. Overall, it’s safe to say he delivers real music.

His level of humble confidence makes you do one of two things –love him or hate him. For most, it’s the first one. Whether it’s love or hate, either way he’s respected.

He studies the art & the technique of the art to develop his rapping technique. He pays homage to the greatest rappers in the industry through his music & his verses. His music production is crisp, high quality, & professional which makes it obvious that he takes pride in his art. The structure of his songs are is flawless & has a way of leaving you wanting to hear more even after the song is over. The harmonic blend of instruments & melodies gives you smooth beats that you can vibe to or hard beats that slap & hype you up with an old school vibe. His creativity is unmatched as seen by cover art of his album.

The ingenuity of his music capitalizes on his individuality & places him in a league of his own. Hear some of my favorites here:

Ms. Cookies Baby

Summer’s Mine

Open Letter to Jay-Z

His voice over the beat is smooth yet authoritative, but the confidence is what grabs your attention. He recently dropped Summer’s Mine & it painted the Facebook timeline with profile pictures of the album cover in support of him. Since it’s dropped, it’s gotten nothing but positive feedback & reviews. (If you Instagram- #Summersmine πŸŒŠπŸ„πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ) In addition to Summer’s Mine dropping, he added a fire jersey to pay respect to his block πŸ”₯

He is lyrically a genius & places his words strategically so the flow is undeniably sick. He speaks on relatable real life issues & tells stories through his music.

His music has thousands of streams on Spotify & his fans & supporters continue to rock with him because he continues to put out dope music. Catch the wave, you may be listening to the next GOAT 🐐.

πŸ”₯Rico da Ruler

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ during my normal scrolling on Facebook, I stumbled across Rico the Ruler & had no choice but to pause.

Rico Da Ruler is an underrated artist that I would honestly put up against any mainstream artist. His flow is unique & from everything I listened to, he bodied every beat. πŸ”₯

I’m honestly trying to figure out what took so long for me to discover him, or why it took so long for the videos to flash across my timeline.

Who do you know that can completely devour a Temptations beat with bars? Rico da Ruler

Check out the savagery here.

Drop a comment in comment box πŸ“₯ to let me know what you think.

I have never seen anyone put it together so clever with bar after bar to a iconic beat. He has a way of capturing your attention by the use of #TheArtOfStoryTelling, & using popular songs that you can vibe to with his #OffTheDome lyrics. He is indeed, undoubtedly, the #FreeStyleKing. He comes with punchlines, metaphors, & bars without so much of a stumble.

Besides the Temptation rendition, he completey snapped on Ella Mai’s Tripping. I’ve heard many covers & renditions, but not too many have mastered the art of rapping over the beat. His version of Tripping is viral with over 170,000 views.

This international sensation has been in rotation from the US to Australia to the UK. He broke the internet when he spit a freestyle rap “Daddy’s Little Girl” to his daughter, gaining over a million views, a spot in front of the camera on the news, & a shout out from Marlon Wayans, Plies, Mike Epps, & Angie Martinez; but the best recognition was the emotional reaction from his daughter. (It’s bigger than rap).

He is quietly dominating the industry, but the time to recognize him is now. His humility is admirable, and his technique is unprecedented & unparalleled. He is in his own lane. He is incomparable. He’s Rico Da Ruler πŸ’―, & there is no other like him. Ride the wave with him & become a fan today!

Start following him today as he continues his musical journey that I know without question will lead him to the Grammys. Be on the lookout for new music, new videos, events & performances, tours, as well as t.v. appearances!

πŸ•ΊπŸΎSoul Bounce with Walt Leon

In June 2018 at my brother’s DNA, album release party, I had the privilege to witness & be in the presence of Walt Leon’s live performance. Besides the man of the hour, Walt Leon was a headliner, & he set the stage on fire. I instantly became a forever fan. I knew I had to have his autographed album, & I was willing to pay whatever the price was to get it.

I’ll be the first to say, my 6 year old son met him one time & has loved him ever since. Walt Leon just has a unique talent that attracts all ages, from children & teenagers, to middle aged & older adults. His positive vibes & energy captivates you & draws you closer to the stage. He definitely has a way of reeling you in. 🎣 HOOK. LINE. SINKER.

We constantly crank his album “Music Take Me Away” & know every song on the entire album. Soul Bounce is one of my favorite songs & one of the dopest line dances I’ve done.

D.J. Davis, who goes by the stage name WALT-LEON, resides in the 757 area of Virginia where he is known to make a positive impact in the community & the lives of those around him. He’s a light in a dark world & his words/music touches you no matter where you are, who you are, your ethnicity, or your status. If you’re reading this, his music is made for you!

Although his personality is quiet & humble, his stage presence roars like a mighty lion. When he walks on the stage, he becomes king of the entire set. (By the way : Leon is Spanish for Lion)

Here’s a brief “getting to know you” section of the superstar πŸ’«:

Catch up & let me introduce Walt Leon.

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ Why did you get started?

Walt Leon: “I wanted to impact the lives of others and be the change that I wanted to see in the community. I wanted to inspire others and give them hope. I didnt want anyone to feel forgotten about. Truly want to inspire others to be better than they were the day before.”

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ How did you get started?

Walt Leon: “In my mom’s garage. I started as a young boy making regular worldly music. Created a decent name for myself in that lane but i felt empty so I made the change and started to fulfill my purpose.”

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ What motivates you to keep moving?

Walt Leon: “My Daughter, My Purpose, and You all. I am motivated by each and every person I follow on social media. seeing you alls post just keeps me motivated.”

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ Would you like to include an excerpt from your book?

Walt Leon: “Don’t be upset because you aren’t where you want to be. Be thankful, because if you were there you would probably get comfortable where you are and stop working as hard to do better. Until you give up, where you are is only temporary. It’s just one step in your process toward success and greatness!!!BE GREAT BE BLESSED! SEE A LIFE, TOUCH A LIFE, CHANGE A LIFE!!!”

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ What are some interesting facts about you?

Walt Leon : “Im naturally a shy person. I’m a Hip-Hop Dance Choreographer. I’m also a gymnast but I played 3 sports in college. I have so many random interesting facts about me. I could go on all day lol.”

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ when are you available for bookings/performances?

Walt Leon : “Whenever I’m needed/wanted I make myself available”

πŸ“–Contact Walt Leon by email address or phone number for booking:

πŸ†Grammys 2019

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ if you didn’t get a chance to watch the 61st Recording Academy Grammys, here’s a recap–the awards were hosted by the beautiful Alicia Keys. In my honest opinion, her hosting was dry & boring. Aside from that, her first outfit was a no go for me. It had a “night gown” feel and lacked elegance for the occasion. However, I get her concept of comfort.

The 2nd outfit was my favorite & was extra cute. This critique isn’t one of her outfit of choice. This time I will speak on her performance. I didn’t necessarily enjoy her rendition of the Drake “In my Feelings” cover or the spins she placed on the Lauryn Hill covers, but there are some who enjoyed it. Her voice didn’t seem as strong and soulful as I remember it being when I was growing up.

A. Keys 3rd outfit, oversized leather jumpsuit had a “trashbag” to me, but once again, the comfortable theme stuck .

The final outfit was my 2nd favorite & she was stunning.

Check out some of the winners here. Congratulations to all the winners:

In addition to the list of winners, here a few pics of my favorite looks & best dressed according to what Stephy Says πŸ’‹

While some celebrities slayed the Grammys, others missed the mark. These my least favorite looks according to what Stephy Says πŸ’‹

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ highlights :

J. Lo’s tribute to Motown was flawless. I must admit I was nervous when I heard she would be doing the Motown performance. Buttt J. Lo delivered the heat. (Pictures courtesy of Hollywood life.)
Cardi B had an amazing night with a flawless performance to her hit Money. Her performance was perfect besides her necklace falling off in the middle of the perform. Don’t worry, she handled it like a boss. Okkurrrttt πŸ‘ŒπŸ½ Offset was a happy supportive husband, and looked at her like he was really in love. He almost looked like he was sorry for that cheating scandal that took place last year.
Cardi B made history tonight by becoming the first female rapper to win a Grammy for best rap album of the year.
Diana Ross blazed the stage in sheer beauty as she celebrated her 75th birthday. She’s just as beautiful as ever & can sannnnngggg. Flawless performance except a brief moment when her throat scratched.
Travis Scott was a complete animal & the dopest crowd surfer.

H.E.R delivered a breathtaking performance. Her guitar & singing combined was impeccable.

And Drake accepted his award looking like a snack. He also delivered a heart felt speech that got a tad bit long winded & had it cut off.

**For more photos from the 2019 61st Grammys, visit Hollywood life.

Overall, I must say, the Grammys was a success & worth the watch.

Stephy Says πŸ’‹ if you haven’t heard George Lovett, you are missing out.

He auditioned again in season 13 in 2014. reports that “American Idol 2012 audition was part of a group trip of SCAD students. He ended up being the only person who made it through to Hollywood Week.

Although he didn’t get as far as he desired on American Idol, he is a 3 time winner of Showtime at the Apollo.

He’s still a winner in my book. πŸ†

Some of his music artists likes are Brandy, Jessica Sanchez, Kanye West, Drake,, Angie Miller, and Fantasia.

In, Lovett states, “I feel like God placed a voice in me and I feel like it’s just my duty to present it to the world….I would just be betraying everything I believe in.”

My love for George grew overnight. I happened to stumble across a video of this musically talented young man whistling on Facebook, and from that day forward, I decided I was going to follow him & his musical journey. I have no been disappointed by a video I’ve viewed yet. I’ve been showing off his videos as if I know him personally, but the talent is so real & raw, I feel like everyone I come across HAS to hear him. Become a fan today & you won’t be dissatisfied.
