  • ๐Ÿ˜ Taraji P. & Erykah Badu Create Outrage

Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ if you haven’t heard, Taraji P. Henson has sparked a flame & has some fans outraged.

David Barden wrote this article just this morning at 4:01 AM & Huffpost released this story ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

Apparently, Taraji P. attempted to equate & compare the Surviving R. Kelly (#muteRKelly) to the old sick skeezer Harvey Weinstein. She basically reportedly called out society for the hushed responds to Harvey Weinstein’s sex assaults while R. Kelly’s flourished all over the internet.

In the alleged deleted Instagram video, Taraji searched the #muteRKelly hashtag & yielded multiple results, while #muteHarveyWeinstein only yielded 1 result used on 29 posts.

Her attempt to compare the two left Twitter users in a frenzy stating that they aren’t sure what her point is, or what exactly she’s trying to prove.

After the stir on social media, Taraji comes back to clarify in attempt to make things right.

This post will be updated as the story updates.

    ๐ŸšจMore articles posted here & here ๐Ÿšจ

If you haven’t been following the story, Erykah Badu stated that she was “praying for R. Kelly,” & some felt as if she was “letting him off the hook” or downsizing his crimes to”poor choices” & condoning his behavior.

    Screenshot courtesy of Pitchfork

Even with the backlash, Erykah Badu supports his healing. (Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ not excusing his behavior but, be open minded & remember that even if he turned out to be a sexual predator, he was once a victim).

With her choice of words being taken out of context, this set off the Twitter fans & they are backing her.

She was accused of stating that R. Kelly has done more for the black community than any one has & here’s her clarification for that :

Erykah Badu entered a Twitter war with the executive director of Surviving R. Kelly docu-series. According to Jezebel, Erykah Badu denies ever being asked to be in the Surviving R. Kelly docu-series.

Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹Here’s an update of the power couple L. Terrel & Rachel Rae:

Since the last blog post, Var & Rae Plus 8, quite a few changes have occured.

I was ranting and raving about how amazing this power couple was, but since October 2018, the Jetts have managed to level up once more. Their relocation to Georgia, from a small town in VA, has already greeted them with life changing events.

    L. Terrel has been performing regularly to his rapidly growing fan base in Georgia, all the while showing love to his hometown fans and supporters as they continue supporting him. Along with performances, L. Terrel also has his hits spinning at the local radio station.

His EP “Stay Up” has dropped & it’s ๐Ÿ”ฅ! I know this from personal experience. I purchased the EP & I haven’t stopped listening to it since I purchased it. It’s available on iTunes. The song that I personally listen to & have on repeat is —Sorry. Everything he said in that song, ๐Ÿ—ฃI FELT THAT โ€ผ๏ธ

This melaninated queen is the epitome of black girl magic.๏ฟผ She’s naturally & unapologetically dope. Rachel Rae’s make up skills & precision in applying makeup is unmatched. In fact, her clients hated to see her leave VA, but were supportive in her endeavors. Her makeup expertise was widespread throughout the DMV (Washington, DC, Maryland, & VA) with Georgia being added to her map of success. Because of her natural beauty & flawless skin, modeling comes naturally for her. Check out the pics & how effortlessly she poses & captures your attention. ๐Ÿ˜

Here are a few reasons you should follow her journey:

These qualities & characteristics merely scratch the surface of who Rachel Rae.

    L. Terrel & Rachel Rae remind me of Dwayne Wade & Gabrielle Union. They are fun, but also bosses making boss moves. They have every tool it takes to delve into a successful career. They have a drive to succeed, receive motivation from one another, and are ambitious. ๐Ÿ—ฃSoulja Boy Told’em

Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ Soulja Boy is back & this time he is on a come up. This is a come back & I must say, I’m LOVING this guy now! He’s headlining the internet & I am here for it!

He just about broke the internet with 3.5 million views on his interview with the Breakfast Club in 24 hours ๐Ÿ˜ฑ

If you haven’t been following Soulja Boy’s stories, here’s a clip from the Breakfast Club Interview with Soulja Boy. He’s back & demanding his respect for making these “relevant” rappers who they are today. Soulja Boy calls out Drake for stealing his line, flow, and bars. He even goes as far as saying, “I taught him everything he know.”

In addition to calling out Drake, Soulja Boy also went in on Kanye West bashing him for supporting President Trump. Pop Culture released an article of Soulja Boy’s words about Yeezy. He said everything he wanted to say & he did so with no remorse stating,

โ€œYou up here supporting Trump and sโ€”,โ€ he said. โ€œYou supporting Trump, bruh? What the fโ€” wrong with you, bruh. That sโ€” not right, bruh. I have sat back long enough and Iโ€™m not holding my tongue no more, bruh. Kanye, call me, get in tune with me cause if not Iโ€™m going to keep checking you.โ€

โ€œMy folks went through too much sโ€” for you to be out here doing this goofy sโ€”,โ€ he went on. โ€œMy grandaddy been through too much, my grandma and great grandaddy, they from Mississippi and they from Mississipi, we went through slavery and sโ€”. You gotta put on for the black community.โ€

Soulja Boy is cutting no slack on anyone! He has also been trolling Ariana Grande on Twitter & accusing her of stealing his flow From Kiss me Through the Phone. Crazy enough, it seems like he has the fan support.

I’m not sure of the age range of those reading my blog, but here are a few songs Soulja Boy is known for:

  • Crank That (and that hit had everybody doing the yooooouuuuu)
  • Kiss Me Through the Phone
  • Yahhh!
  • Pretty Boy Swag
  • Turn My Swag On
  • Donk

  • According to hotnewhiphop.com, one of the Migos, Quavo, confirmed that Soulja Boy influenced alot of the music we are hearing today. If you read the article (hotnewhiphop.com) as previously mentioned, Quavo’s statement was “Soulja most definitely influenced a lot of everybody’s work. He’s speaking facts. He hasn’t said anything wrong.”
  • In addition to Quavo’s support, Soulja Boy also has the support of Meek Mill.
  • Hiphopdx.com mentioned in their article that countless people backed Big Soulja up on Twitter, demanding others give Soulja credit where credit is due.

  • Revolt released an article titled “9 ways Soulja Boy revolutionized today’s hip hop culture”. Do you agree? Let me know in the comments ๐Ÿ“ฅ๐Ÿ“ฅ

  • *According to Twitter:

  • Billboard released their article about Soulja Boy beefs here

  • I think it’s safe to say Soulja Boy is once again a sensation!

  • ๐Ÿ‘†๐ŸฝStay ๐Ÿ†™ with L. Terrel

Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ I briefly mentioned L. Terrel in a previous blog post with his BEAUTIFUL & talented wife. (Check out the post Var & Rae plus 8). In that post, I spoke moreso about their personal life.

Allow me to call your attention to L. Terrel – the ARTIST!

    L. Terrel is originally from a small town, Franklin, Virginia, where he has grown a fan base for over a decade. As far as I can remember, his whole life has been music, & I’ve had the privilege of hearing him grow & mature as an artist. He easily had a Chris Brown vibe singing while growing older. His voice has definitely matured into a real & raw one that demands your attention as soon as he opens his mouth.

If you didn’t check out the previous post, I will take a few seconds to revisit some of the statements I made about L.Terrel. His voice is insanely good.

    Don’t believe me?

You have to watch this video & itโ€™s one of my favorite songs! (Issa vibe) — (he HAS to sing this at my wedding ๐Ÿ˜)

    L. Terrel has developed & continuously develops into a star. He works diligently to perfect his craft & shamelessly promotes and markets himself. That alone is sure to cause him to rise to stardom. Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ trust me when I say, L.Terrel will be one of the next top names in music! Be on the lookout for him. ๐Ÿ‘€

Since the last post, he & his lovely family have moved to Atlanta, Georgia in effort to follow their dreams. According to what Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹, this is another reason L. Terrel is destined to be a star ๐ŸŒŸ Within the first month of the transition he has already performed his hit single โ€œStay Upโ€ and been included in rotation on the local radio station.

Singing & music isn’t just what he does, it’s who he is. Singing is his dream, yet also his reality. With his versatile voice, he’s able to flawlessly sing any rendition of any song of choice from soul to RnB to pop.

    ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿš€Space -Kataya

If you have visited my blog before, this young lady won’t be a stranger to you as you have seen her before in Kataya & the Flawless Fall Face. You met her in one capacity, but let me introduce her to you in a different spotlight.

This beauty has dropped her new hit single “Space” & it’s available on iTunes. Since dropping it, she’s already gotten major love & support from fans, both old & new.

This song issa vibe! I’ve had it on repeat since I’ve purchased it. I first heard a clip of it on her Twitter page & have been anxiously waiting for it to drop!

    The time has arrived!

Let me tell you….it was WELL worth the wait.

She perfectly summed up everything I feel in a perfect melody that also happens to be flawlessly self mixed. Her producer Kauntent is sheer genius for producing this hit.

Kataya’s model, personal Queen, & inspiration Aaliyah is credited for her style, vocals, & personality. She completely embodies Aaliyah in her hit “Space.” You can hear Aaliyah’s vibe & energy vibrating from the speakers. This song travels through your soul. I’m led to believe that if Aaliyah were still living, she would be honored by & proud of her protรฉgรฉ. (Follow Kataya on Instagram & you can see an uncanny resemblance to Aaliyah‘s style๐Ÿ˜)

*Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ does not own rights to these images*

The goal of any artist should be creating a mood or awakening feelings in listeners & Kataya successfully did just that! Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ Support her & show her some love

    ๐Ÿ‘€Surviving R. Kelly

With all the madness going on with R. Kelly, I wasnโ€™t going to state my opinion because the issue is a rather touchy subject. However, as a blogger, I want to add my 2 cents.

Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ Let me add this disclaimer: This is all my opinion. Nothing that I’m saying is law.

Do I believe he is guilty? Yes. Do I believe that the blame alone is his and that he is solely guilty? NO. I am not going to speak on what he did in his personal life as that really isnโ€™t the point of my post. (Not taking up for him nor am I saying what he did is to be excused or overlooked because I do believe he needs to be reprimanded, however, I do want to remind everyone that he was a victim as a child as well. That type of trauma as a child changes a person)

Interactive moment: what kind of person do you think R. Kelly would have been if he had not gotten sexually molested at a young age? Drop your comments in the comment section ๐Ÿ“ฅ

    I digressed…

Hereโ€™s the point I am making:

Regardless of what he did in his personal life, we cannot take away the fact that this man is indeed the King of R&B. I refuse to allow what he did personally to take away his credit professionally. No, supporting his music does condone what he did or didnโ€™t do. Iโ€™m only stating that we shouldnโ€™t treat him or his music/craft any differently than we do any other artists. There are artists that have murdered individuals in cold blood, yet fans refuse to give up their music. Musically, R. Kelly has set the bar for the R&B artists in the industry.

Realistically, if we don’t allow our personal feelings to get in the way of clear thinking, we can all agree that he’s been making hits for years:

Let’s take away the personal emotions & name a few of these hits:

    • I Believe I Can Fly
    • Bump ‘n’ Grind
    • Step in the name of Love
    • Happy People
    • Trapped in the Closet
    • When A Woman’s Fed Up
    • The World’s Greatest
    • Same Girl

Now, there’s no possible way that you can argue that professionally, he’s not one of the biggest names in the industry (probably bigger now that all the attention has shifted to him after 20 years).

What’s interesting is Future reveals that he believes we are giving R. Kelly too much attention. Check out Future’s thoughts here. My take on Future’s response is Kelly had already dropped major hits before Future even dropped one, therefore one can not just “forget” about R. Kelly.

I understand not attending any of R. Kelly’s concerts (R. Kelly won’t even be attending his own lol), but Stephy Says ๐Ÿ’‹ to stop listening to his music all together is a bit extreme.

You can do whatever you like, but as for me, when Step in the Name of Love & Happy People come on, ๐Ÿ—ฃI’m gon’ step ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ.

I had the pleasure of reading Sex Me: Confessions of Daddy’s Little Freak & it was a good read & definitely shook things up a little. This book put other things in perspective. Read it, and leave me comments on your thoughts.
